Each package is comprised of 2 files: 1. Zip file - contains JSON exports of the mongo objects in the source project, including where to find their underlying data files 2. Metadata file - contains the definition of objects to be displayed in the [Package Manager.](/v1/docs/package-manager) Together these files provide the information necessary to make data from one project available to other projects and realms. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/73b6469b-c1e4-47e9-aa65-986c8ebd17ca/Images/Documentation/image-1730735760421.png) ![](https://cdn.document360.io/73b6469b-c1e4-47e9-aa65-986c8ebd17ca/Images/Documentation/image-1730735783097.png) #### Creating a package To create a package, use either: - **Project | CreatePackage** - **Script Editor | Methods | Tools | CreatePackage** Both of these approaches will create a new package and add it to the Package Manager. If the [storage hub](/v1/docs/storage-hub) has been configured, the package will be added to the hub. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/73b6469b-c1e4-47e9-aa65-986c8ebd17ca/Images/Documentation/image-1730799663919.png) ####
