The query is then modified to only select the records that match "gender=M": ![](https://cdn.document360.io/73b6469b-c1e4-47e9-aa65-986c8ebd17ca/Images/Documentation/image-1730740470972.png) Records that do not match the query are returned as 0. The underlying dataset looks as follows: ![](https://cdn.document360.io/73b6469b-c1e4-47e9-aa65-986c8ebd17ca/Images/Documentation/image-1730740508185.png) ![](https://cdn.document360.io/73b6469b-c1e4-47e9-aa65-986c8ebd17ca/Images/Documentation/image-1730740570072.png) See [DataSet HotBar - Functional Overview (resolve at)](/v1/docs/dataset-hotbar-quick-reference) for a further look at how records are counted depending on the resolution table, and how datasets are combined. #### Query Tree Rather than use SQL, Datajet uses drag and drop to create no-SQL queries that are stored in a query tree: ![](https://cdn.document360.io/73b6469b-c1e4-47e9-aa65-986c8ebd17ca/Images/Documentation/image-1730740691615.png) Queries are executed from top to bottom, with new queries appended to the bottom of the tree. For more information on DataSets, see: - [DataSet Scratch](/v1/docs/dataset-scratch) - [DataSet HotBar - Functional Overview](/v1/docs/dataset-hotbar-quick-reference) ## Dataset Collections Dataset Collections are groups of Datasets that can be used either individually or collectively within the Desktop Application or scripting interface. Collections are not specific to a particular table, but can contain datasets from any table in the system. Create a DataSet collection by right-clicking on the **DataSets | Collections** tab and choosing "**Create DataSet Collection**" ![](https://cdn.document360.io/73b6469b-c1e4-47e9-aa65-986c8ebd17ca/Images/Documentation/image-1730745083530.png) The DataSet Collection Builder will be displayed. Drag and drop datasets from anywhere in the system and add them to the collection, renaming and re-ordering as requried. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/73b6469b-c1e4-47e9-aa65-986c8ebd17ca/Images/Documentation/image-1730745511794.png) Once saved, the collection will be added to the collections tab. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/73b6469b-c1e4-47e9-aa65-986c8ebd17ca/Images/Documentation/image-1730745638532.png) Dataset collections can be dropped onto: - [Dashboards](/v1/docs/dashboard) - dashboard filters - [**Multi-field Statistics**](/v1/docs/statistics-getting-started) - repeated categorical variables - [Profile](/v1/docs/profile)/ [Index Profile](/v1/docs/index-profile) / [Combined Profile](/v1/docs/combined-profile) - named collection or multi-column dashboard - [AnalyseSegments](/v1/docs/analysesegments) - Target Datasets #### Dashboard![](https://cdn.document360.io/73b6469b-c1e4-47e9-aa65-986c8ebd17ca/Images/Documentation/image-1730746613523.png) #### Multi-Field Statistics ![](https://cdn.document360.io/73b6469b-c1e4-47e9-aa65-986c8ebd17ca/Images/Documentation/image-1730747264067.png)Profile![](https://cdn.document360.io/73b6469b-c1e4-47e9-aa65-986c8ebd17ca/Images/Documentation/image-1730747577277.png) ## DataSet Fields DataSets can also be stored as DataSet fields. This will store the results of the query as a field on the resolution table: ![](https://cdn.document360.io/73b6469b-c1e4-47e9-aa65-986c8ebd17ca/Images/Documentation/image-1730821446662.png) See [DataSet HotBar - Functional Overview](/v1/docs/dataset-hotbar-quick-reference) for a more detailed look at DataSets and DataSet fields. ## Segment Datasets If [Signal Data](/v1/docs/segment-correlation-analysesegments) is available in a project (i.e., if a DataSource that contains signal data has been injected), the segments sub-tab will be available on the dataset tab. NoteThis is in addition to the **Signals | Segment Selector** report, which provides another mechanism of selecting signal segments. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/73b6469b-c1e4-47e9-aa65-986c8ebd17ca/Images/Documentation/image-1760954055371.png) ## Related - [Instant Insights - DataView](/instant-insights-dataview.md) - [DataSet HotBar - Functional Overview](/dataset-hotbar-quick-reference.md)
